Cookin' Up A FairyTale....

Well here are the two most precious little people in my life, all dressed up for their Hallelujah Party at school today! Aren't they just the sweetest??? This is not actually what they will be for Halloween or Trunk or Treat but just some of their playful outfits that they occasionally dress up in but I thought it was cute for daycare and I don't have to worry about them totally destroying them before they get home! :)

We FOUND Nemo!!!

I took the kids to Disney on Ice "Finding Nemo" Wednesday nite with my cousin Amy and her little boy Andrew who is about two months younger than Chandler. They absolutely loved it! Maddie had to have a Nemo cup full of slush and Chandler picked out the Shark and poor Andrew dumped a whole cup of slush in his lap during the show! We all left wearing tyedyed clothing, Thanks to Nemo and the Shark but it's a cute little souvenir. I didn't get any good pictures of the show or the kids... but thought it would be funny to show the attempts I made! Thursday morning when I dropped the kids off at daycare, Chandler ran to his Pre-K teacher and said, "We Found Nemo!!!!"

Wall Mural

The mural is painted in Hillevi's (mother-in-law) hallway where they enter from the garage into their kitchen area. She had been begging me to do this very mural in their foyer waaaaaayyyyy up high on a big wall overlooking their stairs but i'm afraid of heights and said no. So last week she came in and told me she found a place for it and when could I do it.. ya'll know she's OCD and she meant, can you do it RIGHT NOW! I told her no again but that I would go ahead and get the supplies for when I do get the chance. Well since I'm off on Wednesdays, it seemed to be perfect! It took me about 3 1/2 hours to do the tree, leaves, bird and the words. Then last night, I went back and added the rest of the grass, a squirrel, the worm in the birds mouth and the detail to the leaves and it took another 2 1/2 hours. I must say, i'm very pleased with the outcome. And yes Hillevi absolutely loves it too! And i've already got two more murals that i'm planning on doing for some different people in the area!!

Flu Shot....Or Not??

Let me just start by saying that my children and I have never had a flu shot for regular seasonal flu....So I guess my question would be, how important is it to you to make your children get the flu shot every year? Also, if you were in my shoes, would you still get the new h1n1 flu shot when available in october? It's questionable to me. I feel like this whole "swine flu" pandemic has been totally blown out of porportion and I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm still waiting on the kiddo's doctor to call me back with his answer to all of these questions, but I thought I would share and see what you guys thought. Thanks! :)

Summer Time

I'm following in a friends footsteps and once again catching up my blog with lots of pictures.. it has been a very busy summer for us! We've been to the following places on more than one occasion over the past couple of months, first of all because the kids and I love it but most of all because it's cheap! :)

Chandler and Maddie weren't too thrilled with Cathedral Caverns but it was something different for us to experience and the drive was beautiful!
And of course Maddie loves to pose for all of her pictures these days.. such a character!

In the meantime, i've let my hair grow out and played around with some lovely color in a bottle!

Chandler has a new toy... gotta be a "John Deere"! And it helps that his favorite color is green just like his daddy! :)

Look who else loves their daddy! She's always kissin' on him and telling him how much she loves him, it's the sweetest thing!
A little bit too close for comfort for me but after I threatened Madison's life in front of God and everyone, I was pleased with the picture.. but don't bet there will be a second!

After hitting Little River Canyon and DeSoto Falls they needed a little break.. here they are just chillin on the rocks above the falls.. Aren't they too precious?

I love the hiking trails at High Falls in Geraldine, AL... they make such good backdrops for pictures too!

Here's Maddie at Lake Winnie.. little miss brave.. her daddy taught her to hold her hands up on the miniature pirate ship to get the full effect, and without missing a beat.. she did it!

My sweet little ladybug riding a ladybug.. and in case you cannot see them, her "kids" are in the back seat and she was talking to them throughout the entire ride.. oh the imagination.. hee hee

Looking over the bridge at high falls, the old bridge there was so neat and the history behind the place was very facinating..

And I leave you with Maddie, driving off into the sunset in her lake winnie furnished boat!
I hope everyone has enjoyed the summer as much as we have but I'm definitely looking forward to the Fall, my favorite time of year! :) Until next time...

New Favorite Hobby

It just amazes me how far things have come since I was a kid. I love that I can let the kids paint in my living room floor and not have to worry about what else they may paint other than their paper! We love all of the Crayola Color Wonder's products, and the kids do too! Here are a few pix of them enjoying their new favorite hobby! :) Enjoy!
Can't you just see the mischief!!

Slippin' Slidin'

Well, my babies have finally learned how to slip and slide on their own!!
Before this year when we would set out the slippin' slide, we would have to take turns throwing them down the slide! (a total back-breaker)
They are getting so big and it just amazes me each and every day that these little angels are a part of me!
They can be so sweet sometimes and then when they aren't being sweet, the faces when they're mad makes me smile even more! I love them so much!
